The following links are for sights that I find useful.  Some have the history of the needlework/craft, some  have instructions to stitches/techniques, and some just have work that I consider to be really nice.

Antique Pattern Library Catalog is the Gutenberg project for needlecraft books. It offers a great selection of e-books on the subject of sewing.

Craftbits  has too many ideas to even consider listing.  GREAT SITE!

Memories by the Yard located on Mainland off of Bandera Rd in San Antonio...has all kinds of material, thread, and classes available.  It would take more that one day to see all the quilts and supplies displayed throughout the shop.

Needlework Sites:
  1. Needlework: Basic Embroidery Stitches website...is exactly what the title says.
  2. American Needlepoint Guild  Too many stitches to mention.  Great site!

Nordic Needle website...community blog, newsletter, free patterns, explanation of stitches, supplies, etc.  all under one website.


Save the Stitches by Nordic Needle is a great sight for information about needlework.  It includes blogs, sewing guides, free patterns, and pictures.

Tatting sites
  1. Herrschners has size 80 thread for jewelry tatting. 
  2. Victoria Sampler website...offers a cyberclass and has a newsletter, chat group and free patterns.
